Skirts
A skirt by definition is a cone shaped garment that is worn round the waist to cover all or part of the legs. Skirts come in a range of all different shapes and sizes and designs depending on the fashion of the times. There are many different types of skirts that are called different names, here is a look at a few of those different skirts and what occasions they are best for.
Mini Skirts – as the name suggests this type of skirt is very short. Mini skirts can be as short as half way up your thigh or even shorter. This type of skirt is generally only worn at summer time and by women and girls of the younger generation. Mini skirts can look great with a dressy top and some sparkly jewellery, the perfect skirt for a night out on the time. Mini skirts are usually made our of elasticated fabric or denim.
Long Skirts – these types of skirts are available in a wide range of fabric and patterns and usually end at the ankle or a little higher or below. The fabric and pattern will depend what the skirt is best for example a flowey colourful skirt is more for casual day time wear whereas a long straight black skirt would be ideal for work. Long skirts are generally worn by women in the age range of around 40 plus. Long skirts can be dressed up or down, wearing a jumper with it will make it look more casual whereas you can add a little top for a great pub outfit.
Pencil Skirts – these skirts usually end around the knee area either a little higher or below. Pencil skirts are the perfect style for work, meetings and anything that requires you to look more professional. They are tailored to your waist and legs and so they are flattering and look great with a top or shirt. Pencil skirts can be flat or peaked depending on the style, be sure to match the top correctly with the pattern of the skirt to pull this skirt look off.
