Winter is here and it is colder than it has been years, which means we all have to wrap up warm when we venture outside. Choosing a coat or jacket is important as you need to find the right balance between a jacket that is fashionable and fits you well and of course it needs to be warm. You may want to have two or more coats and jackets for different occasions as it is quite hard to find a coat that fits all occasions. For example a coat to wear during the day that is warm and woolley will not look dressy enough to take on a night out with you. Here we look at some of the different types of coats and jackets to choose from and which occasion they are most suitable for.

Long Wool Coat – many people choose to have a long coat in the winter time, either to the length of their knees or half way ending just below the bum. Having a longer coat keeps you warmer than say a jacket which ends at your waist. Depending on the design on the coat will depend if it is dressy enough to wear out for example a long plain black coat is quite versatile as it can keep you warm, it will go with all outfits and it looks smart enough to wear at night.

Macs are Back – Macs used to be in fashion 10 to 15 years ago and now they are back in fashion again. Macs have become funky with a different design and style but they still keep you warm and dry in the rain and wind. Macs look great for day time wear no matter if you are going shopping or taking the dogs for a walk in the park but they look too casual to wear for evening wear.

Leather Bomber Jacket – leather jackets are very much the popular style for jackets this winter. You can choose from a whole range of styles such as with a hood or no hood, black leather or brown and so on. These jackets are cute and cool and look great with Jeans and leggings. Again this type of jacket looks too casual to wear with an evening dress but you may be able to get away wearing it with an evening outfit of trousers and top.
